FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
What is DreamWork?DreamWork is our term for working through dreams, usually with others we can really trust rather than doing this on our own. The benefits of having a group of people who are mature enough not to feel like they can (or have to!) "fix" you are immense. What seems to work best is finding a small group of people who are each demonstratedly focused on courageously pursuing transformation in their own lives and who are willing to help you work through your transformation. As a group, they can comment, and help you see your own filters, but no one except the dreamer can really say for sure what the dream means. Back to TopHow do I find out more?In our experience, there are two basic paths that need to be explored concurrently - taking the time to do reading/research and finding a small group you can do DreamWork with. Both require a certain level of discernment. In following both paths, you'll be exposed to all kinds of philosophies, "facts" and experiences that you need to wade through, separating the "wheat" from the "chaff". The best indicator is finding those things which do produce change. Theory is great as a framework, and experience can help us fill in the blanks and prove or disprove theory. As we get the Discussion Groups and DreamWork list server going, they (hopefully!) will provide a good means for finding out more about these areas. See our Contact Us page in order to explore these developing communications channels. Back to TopWhere can I get good materials? There are many materials on dream interpretation and spiritual growth available via the internet, and sometimes in stores. The key is to be discerning on what you take in. Herman has written and produced various books, video and audio tapes on Dreams and Spiritual Growth. These are available in various places, although some of it is out of print or used. A growing amount of Herman's material is being made available at www.cgllcmedia.com, which Bruce has opened up as a way for Herman and other authors to publish material that may not fit the main stream of popular content, or in cases where other publishers may not offer terms quite as favorable to the author. Mark Virkler's Communion With God Ministries site has a great deal of information and materials available on spiritual growth. Herman was one of Mark's mentors on Dream Interpretation, and Mark has incorporated some of that experience into his work. Back to TopWhen is the next time you'll be doing a workshop or seminar? We're exploring setting up two or three times a year when we can schedule a date and see who can come. We usually would do these in Frederick, Maryland because Herman is taking care of Lillie at home. We are open to considering workshops in other places. Email us via the Contact Us page if you are interested. Back to TopWill you interpret my dream for me?We're very reluctant to do dream interpretations via email or letter, but if you email us, perhaps we set up a time to talk with you about your dream. Since we believe that the dream symbols have meaning for the dreamer, we believe interactive back-and-forth conversation is necessary to the process. Email back and forth is not very good for such a dialogue. We have found small dreamwork discussion groups to be the most helpful and safest way to explore this area. We encourage people to explore small groups, and would be happy to talk with you about it. Back to TopRevised: 02/18/2007 |
